As AI tools become more common in education, many students are experimenting with them, sometimes appropriately, sometimes not. This session will help teachers shift from a policing mindset to a coaching one. We’ll explore why students turn to AI, how to spot potential misuse, and most importantly, how to have productive, empathetic conversations when you suspect AI-generated work. Through role-play, discussion, and practical strategies, participants will leave with concrete language, tools, and approaches to guide students toward responsible AI use and academic integrity.
In this session, you will learn about Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and some strategies you can use to support your ADHD (and other neurodivergent) students. Have you ever wondered why your ADHD students require more movement, need more frequent reminders of class expectations, can pay attention in some subjects and not others, and struggle with prioritization and time management? Taught from the perspective of an adult with ADHD, you will gain insight into these challenges (and more!) faced by students with ADHD and walk away with new tools and strategies you can bring to your classroom to help your students be successful.
Curious about how ADHD shows up in daily life—and what you can do to work with it, not against it? In this session, you’ll gain insight into the experiences and challenges of ADHD, such as needing movement, struggling with time management, or finding focus in some areas but not others. Taught from the perspective of an adult with ADHD, this session will provide practical strategies, tools, and perspectives to help you better understand yourself and develop approaches that support your own success and well-being.
